Dear Backers and Followers,
Our campaign is coming to an end (Friday, April 4th at 2pm CEST), and we only have 48 hours left to raise as much money as possible to create the best game possible.
If you haven’t backed our game yet, now is the time!
These past weeks were a demanding but fantastic time, and we are grateful for all your support, comments, questions, and suggestions (especially the ones on breeding, made us very happy).

We are proud and thankful to have reached so many of our Stretch Goals!
Especially “Cooking” (as we all love cooking in games) and “Peaceful Mode”. Why “Peaceful Mode”? Because this way we can ensure that Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori can be enjoyed by all sorts of players, from survival enthusiasts that love a true challenge to more cozy gamers who want to relax when exploring the vivid open world of 13th century Mongolia.
Our next Stretch Goal is at 410K EUR (approximately 440K USD) but we believe that we can even go beyond that!

The Soundtrack of Mongolia (new video)

Dear Backers and Followers,
Today's update is about music and the soundtrack of Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori!
But how important is music in games? And is it equally important across all genres?
For us, music has always been a key element when it comes to any great game that we love. This is why we gave our soundtrack a high priority from the beginning on!
What makes composing for this game especially interesting, is that Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori is not only set in fascinating Mongolia but in the ancient 13th century. So, time and location offer a wide variety of unique sounds and thus a perfect playground for our sound designers.
Furthermore, we work together with Mongolian musicians for even more authenticity.
But not only the music itself, also sound effects are a key element, especially in an open world game with horses at its core. So, we went the extra mile and recorded as many of them live at a horse ranch!

The Game: Naraa’s Diary

Dear Diary,
I have not had much time to sit down and write these past few days. This journey is the longest and most demanding delivery I have been on. And I am running late!
I have been roaming the land for days already, gathering as much food and herbs as I can reach from Thunder's back, making steady progress towards my destination in the high mountains.
Thunder's sure-footed nature guided us well through the dark of night, the dun gelding was a good choice for this journey. The Eternal Blue Sky blessed us with enough starlight to find our way, though we had to slow to a careful walk through the rocky patches.
However, when I woke before dawn I found Thunder pawing at the ground. My fears proved true, he had eaten the cursed black mushrooms that sprout after rain while we crossed the wetlands the other day, and he seems to suffer from a slight fever. Even worse, it is much too cold for this time of a year and we are not even close to the mountains yet!
Thankfully I could prepare a mixture of dried qarghana root that I collected on my way. I pray that his fever will go down soon! Thunder is tethered near the campfire I set up, so I may groom and pamper him and give him what comfort I can. Getting a bit more rest will do me good as well, for I sense fatigue dulling my senses. I will soon have to take some time to mend and improve my sleeping roll. I imagine my sleep would be more restful if I were to pad the roll with furs.
Oh, I almost forgot. The other day, I experimented with some herbal powder pouches I crafted, one of which poor Thunder did not like at all. I shall take note of the mixture in case I ever need to get roaming horses out of the way. Now that I see he is not well, I feel a little guilty about causing him unnecessary stress.
My sleep was uneasy and this morning I noticed a bear, even worse he noticed me too. Even though I was really careful paying close attention to the wind, facing it in order to keep my scent hidden.
But all of a suddenthe wind turned and the beard smelled me! I needed to act swiftly! So I raised my bow… And I am here to tell the tale, thankful for the fact that I am still here.
When I think about it now, my hands still shake. But my mind is at ease, because the bear’s pelt will keep Thunder warm, the healing tincture I gave him is taking effect, and we can continue to ride towards the settlement in the mountain peaks.
Wish us luck, dear diary!
